Luxury French group PPR who owns stakes in Gucci, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen and Puma has announced that their new company name will be Kering.
The "ker" in Kering comes from chief executive officer Francois Henri Pinault's family's roots in the Brittany region of France - also meaning house or home. The new logo features an owl with a heart-shaped face designed by agencies Dragon Rouge and Havas Lifestyle.

Another fun fact: the Chinese version of the name - Kai Yun has a slightly different meaning: open skies.
