It's Saturday and if you don't have any plans, why not take some time to ooh and ahh over some jewels by Joel Arthur Rosenthal aka JAR.
Now through March 9th at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, this breathtaking exhibit features over 400 pieces including a butterfly brooch made from sapphires, fire opals, rubies, amethyst, garnets and diamonds.
Born in New York City, Rosenthal was a Harvard University graduate and has lived in Paris since 1966. His studio is located in Paris' 1st arrondissement and has no storefront or identifying markings - and not open to the public. Notoriously press shy, this exhibit couldn't have happened without his help.
