Viktor & Rolf Spring 2014 Couture

Ballerinas in couture is just pure perfection.

Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren showed a collection that featured nude shades of latex, that looked similar to skin, with hand-painted trompe l'oeil tattoos of ruffles, bows or birds. Surrealism must have been on Viktor & Rolf's minds (after all, Schiaparelli was back on the Couture calendar after 60+ years), draping folds of the latex were held up through the tattooed bird's beaks and the ruffles looked romantically realistic. Finally, having the Dutch National Ballet as the models was icing on the cake.
